Radar is showing the quickly moving dry slot north. Thus precip. will come to an end from south to north through the Tri-state, holding londer in NW NJ where the cold conveyor belt and wrap around will linger before changing to snow.

As the backlash moves eastward, there can be some snow redeveloping from west to east, working toward the city later this afternoon. This will end early this evening, leaving a coating on top of the icy mess in place.

The wind is staying in a more NE component rather than ENE or E for the afternoon so I do not think the temp goes above freezing in NYC. Wind gusts so far have topped out at 43mph at JFK and these will increase as the surface low moves up the coast over Long Island.

The wind tonight turns around to the northwest and aligns better in addition to the tighter pressure gradient. Slushy areas on the roads will quickly freeze up tonight as much colder air is pushed in. Also, wind chills tonight and tomorrow will hover around 0 much of the time, only making it into the single digits for teh afternoon.

There will be a quick moving clipper for Saturday night so we will be dealing with a period of snow or flurries.

Is it me or is Bill liking the fact that this storm was a bust?  Usually the guy digs the snow but with this time around he doesn't like it.  Could it be something to do with all the problems on the board?

Like he is egging people on with this dry slot crap

Also he made a rare plug for the "weather chat" on the morning news breaks.  LAME!  They must have like 5 people on there now...albeit each guy has like 5 nicks .

I think that he is annoyed at the people calling his totals too low, especially the ones who were hyping a 1-2 ft blizzard for the area since the weekend.
