Most prof. Mets and broadcast stations HYPE upcoming storms for ratings.

I wouldn't hype any storm up at all until it actually starts snowing with the way that this winter goes. People were looking at early model runs with this one and saw NYC in line for a double digit snowfall and look what actually happened. In a winter where we actually get significant snowfalls, I'd be more inclined to get excited a few days before the event as a result of positive model runs but not this winter. This winter hasn't given me a reason to get excited because it has yet to deliver one significant storm, 6 inches or more of snow.

I still remember Fox 5 having a report at halftime of the Giants/Cowboys game on December 3rd, freaking out because we MIGHT get two inches of snow. Honestly, I could have counted the amount of flakes we got in that "storm" on one hand. ::)

OK I will take it with a grain of salt but exactly what are we looking at? Are their models placing this thing on us or what? Most of the METS had sunny days on their 5 day forecast. What Gives?
