Obama "can disagree without shunning or demonizing those with other views," he said. "That's far different than the suggestion that he somehow tailors his view."

Sat I know all this stuff is nuts. But, Just say McCain attended a far well dinner and did a speach for a well known Clan's man. Even if he didnt agree with him. Everyone would be up in arms People can say its not the same, but a hate group is a hate group and there is no place in the world for that sh!t. It just gets taught to our kids and keeps going.
BTW- I dont like either party, so I may just do a write in. An it may just be you Sat.

how many more people does barack have that maybe most folks disagree with. this is just a tad on the scary side. his connections are not folks that have hid money done some shady political acts, these are hat filled people that hate the common good and ideas of America. so let's vote him in? the tape has something on it that sounds as if it could really damage/shed some insight to what obama thinks. it seems odd that he can be around all these hate filled people and not agree. i know when i don't like/disagree with someone, or feel what they are saying is hateful or damaging to others....i wouldn't give a speech about them.

Cant find the article yet (cant remember what channel it was on this morning) so this is how it when
Breaking news, a whistle blower was now going to come forward from Acorn today in a law suit that the Rep. had filed in PA. The election people have found over 50K fake registration and counting.
This said whistle blower was going to come forward and tell the judge that Acorn makes it a practice to file false registrations in more than 15 states.
That was the basic info, I'll try to find the story. It would of been on either CNN,Fox, or NBC

I think the fact that they won't release the tape is the most damning thing. Didn't they just endorse Obama last week? It would make them look like fools.

This may explain the unheard of amount of registrations this year, as well as the Democrats' overwhelming advantage in this category. Call me crazy but I don't think ACORN is signing up too many Republicans.

You would imagine. Which makes me think that it's something potentially damning.
You watch...as soon as Obama is elected, the media will release all of the documents and tapes about him that they've been sitting on all year. It's a shame when you can't even trust the press to do their jobs and critically examine BOTH candidates. So much for freedom of information. We're only electing the leader of the free world here; we don't need to know anything about his background, right?

funny thing lab i was just looking at cnn...not a peep about acorn or the la times story. i usually look at both fox and cnn to try and weed through the articles, figured i'd get cnn's side of it, but guess they don't want to look at it.

Which is exactly why I have zero faith in the media to tell the entire story. If Obama wins, the media should be the first group that he thanks in his victory speech. I'm sorry, but they are not doing their jobs properly. I don't think I've ever seen a Presidential candidate face less scrutiny by the mainstream press.

Blunt: Democrats' Long History of Rewarding ACORN
PR NEWSWIRE
Posted: 2008-10-22 16:58:00
A Vote Analysis Demonstrates How Close They Really Are
WASHINGTON, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Long before Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac needed a taxpayer-funded bailout this summer, Congressional Democrats began pushing an "affordable housing trust fund." A priority of Democrat leaders, it was created to benefit some of their biggest political allies, including groups like the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). Instead of taking action to reign in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, who played a central role in the nation's housing crisis, Democrats chose instead to add new liabilities to the economy and enable their ACORN friends.
Stories have come out across the country chronicling disturbing voter-fraud activities perpetrated by ACORN, leading to an FBI investigation after House Republican Whip Roy Blunt (Mo.), Tom Cole (Okla.), Dean Heller (Nev.), Candice Miller (Mich.), and Ranking Members Vern Ehlers (Mich.) and Lamar Smith (Texas) requested a complete investigation by the Department of Justice.
Today, the New York Times reported that ACORN's activities "...may have led to violations of federal laws... potentially improper use of charitable dollars for political purposes; money transfers among the affiliates; and potential conflicts created by employees working for multiple affiliates..."
And while Republicans sought to limit taxpayer support for this politically-motivated group, Democrats continued to reward them. Since 1998, ACORN has received at least $31 million from taxpayers. But ACORN hasn't just tried to register Mickey Mouse to vote, they've also played a key role in creating the lending environment that has caused today's economic crisis.
Despite all of this, Democrats added their misguided ACORN slush fund to the Fannie/Freddie bailout that passed the Democrat Congress this summer. And when Congress considered the emergency financial rescue package in September, Democrats once again tried to reward their troubled and legally-challenged ally, this time with a 20 percent taxpayer kick-back. Their record could not be clearer...
October 26, 2005: The U.S. House of Representatives votes on an amendment to sunset the Democrat-proposed ACORN slush fund after five years (Roll Call 541).
208 Republican vote YES
191 Democrats vote NO (only 2 Democrats vote yes)
May 22, 2007: The U.S. House of Representatives votes on an amendment to strip the ACORN slush fund from a housing reform bill (Roll Call 392).
155 Republicans vote YES
224 Democrats vote NO
May 8, 2008: The U.S. House of Representatives votes on a motion to prohibit the ACORN slush fund from benefiting convicted drug dealers, sex offenders, or mortgage fraud perpetrators (Roll Call 298).
196 Republicans vote YES
215 Democrats vote NO
July 23, 2008: The U.S. House of Representatives votes to officially create the ACORN slush fund, permanently writing it into law (Roll Call 519).
149 Republicans vote NO
227 Democrats vote YES (only 3 Democrats vote no)
September, 2008: Congressional Democrats insert a provision into the emergency financial rescue package to kick-back 20% of taxpayer revenue to the newly created ACORN slush fund.
It takes all weekend for Republican negotiators to successfully remove this provision from the bill.

MSNBC is far worse. Remember when Chris Matthews actually said on-the-air that he got a tingly feeling when he heard Obama speak? Plus, you have Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow who are extremely liberal. I don't mind people having political views different from my own, but is it asking too much for them to at least try and see things from the other perspective? Why are there so many partisan hacks out there today?
