wow!!!!!!!! here in poughkeepsie, a dramatic turn to heavy snow is occurring unless it is just a cold pocket, some huge flakes mixing in and i hear less sleet pellets :)

colapsing cold air into the center of the storm possibly? This should make it al the way to the coast but not going to allow for big accumulations as precip is almost over.

Don't count on the snow being over. Watch the radar. The storm is just to the south of us and moving northeast. Precipitation should start to pivot. Maybe we can pickup 3-6 inches. That would be a nice consolation prize.
Anybody who wants to see whats going on up north live. Log into Killington.com and go on the live webcam. People are skiing and they have picked up about 10 inches and they expect at least 24. Some salvation. At least ski season has now picked up.

Nothing happening here. Just Cloudy. We'll have to see if the precip redevelops as the intensifying coastal moves out. This is more than a looking at radar thing as porecip redevelops and fills in and pinwheels.
But the models really blew the QPF on this storm so I don't trust them.
Virga - your finally getting the right precip. That 850MB low ruined it for so many people. The track - even 100 miles further east didn't matter, we'd still have otten sleet. The primary produced too potent of an 850MB low and that low was way north. How it got there against an arctic air mass should be a study at school for Met students.

The mountain in front of me it totally white, i can barely see it. So i know its snowing up there. The flakes are starting to come down more now. Its heavy sleet with snow coming down. If this turns to all heavy snow we could pick up a quick few inches. Satellite i know you're in hackettstown, thats a higher elevation then washington i think. Any snow there?
