FORWARD TO ALL YOU CAN

Why is all of this going unnoticed by the media???? They send 1000 reporters to Alaska to dig up something on Sarah palin and they have this right in front of their eyes!

Two books written by Obama,Dreams of My Father & Audacity of Hope

From Dreams of My Father:'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.'

From Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.'

From Dreams of My Father:'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'

From Dreams of My Father:'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'

And FINALLY the Most Damning one of ALL of them!!!

From Audacity of Hope:'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'

* If you have never forwarded an e-mail, now is the time to Do so!!! We CANNOT have someone with this type of mentality running our GREAT nation!! I don't care whether you are a Democrat or a Conservative. We CANNOT turn ourselves over to this type of character in a President. PLEASE help spread the word

Hurricaneff -- It's going "unnoticed by the media" because it never took place. You've fallen for another in the long line of completely false smear e-mails and materials. These quotes did not take place, nor do they appear in his books. There are plenty of web-sites which completely de-bunk these ridiculous quotes. This is really sad. If people don't want to vote for Obama, by all means do not do so. If you wish to support/vote for McCain, do so. But it's really sad and awful that this false junk exists. People must really be desperate.

Everything about the man scares me. That last quote is very scary. It is a really sick storyline that Palin spent $150K on clothes (which will be given away) with the inference that it'll help buy an election. Meanwhile Obama spends 1,000 times that - $150mln (in one month) on advertising (which can't be given away) and that is not even noted. One can easily view the clothing as advertising an image also yet spending that much is portrayed as a greater eveil than spoending $150mln. Absurd.

Ice -- So you're scared of a quote which never took place. Very disappointing.

I did some research on that last quote. Apparently, what he meant by that was this; in the wake of 9/11, there was fear that Muslims would face unfair discrimination because of what happened, similar to how so many Japanese-Americans were detained in prison camps back in World War II after Pearl Harbor. He meant to say that if there was a movement to persecute all Muslims simply because of their religion, he would stand with them and not allow a repeat of what happened back in the 40's. A lot of these quotes can easily be taken out of context.

Devilsfan - -Your interpretation is 100% correct. The exact phrase was that he would "stand with American immigrants", etc. and was meant exactly as you stated. Unfortunately, there are so many false smear e-mails (ie was sworn in as senator on the Koran instead of the Bible) that it's sad, and what's even more sad is that some people believe these lies, despite being proven as false.

No. I'm afraid of Obama period. I have zero faith in his economic policies and I'm as sure that they are bad as I was sure this summer that oil would collapse. The hope I see in Obama is that he helps us make friends in the Muslim world. But I can just as easily see the radical Muslims fire a shot across the bow as he is portrayed as indecisive and desiring to stay out of battles. That's got to be music to the ears of a terrorist.

Look - we are on different pages about this man. I see first hand how he's bad for small business and in my book any economic policy that is bad for small business is bad for America. I still don't really know anything he stands for. He's been very evasive about the underpinnings of how he will do things. We'll just have to agree to disagree about him. I don't like McCain either but he's the lesser of two bad choices to me.

Ice -- Your previous post said that you found the last quote scary. The point is that he never said that, yet you choose to say you found it scary. That only adds to the perception that these falsehoods are true. As I said in an earlier post, people should support whomever they wish, but complete lies and smears are just plan wrong, regardless of who is on the receiving end.

One of the scariest things (and another thing that gets totally ignored by the media) is how he's basically said he wants to appoint Supreme Court justices (and the next president could get to appoint as many as 3) who will try to legislate from the bench and change social policy. Wow.

This guy has disaster written all over him.

Or maybe a kick in the groin is exactly what the country needs to get it back on track. Because lets be realistic and pull our head out of the sand, its FUBAR right now. Maybe Obama will bring radical change. And change is always scary. But lets first see if he wins. Then see exactly what his plans mean in the real world, not just on paper and what the press says it will mean.

That's EXACTLY what's scaring people about him. We have to wait until he's in office to see what he's really all about? By then, it's too late and we're stuck with him for four years (if he does a bad job). Besides, why do we need radical change? I don't want it. I still believe in the ideas and principles that this nation was founded on. If we as a people get back to that, we'll be fine. I just don't want to throw out the baby with the bath water here just because we've temporarily lost our way.

But what is the way back when the richest 1% control more money than the lower 90%? When tens of millions of people can't afford health care? When tens of millions more have health care that refuses to pay for life-saving treatment and procedures? And you are right...if we as a people get back to what this nation was founded on we will be fine. The problem is, we as a people are lazy and lethargic and want someone else to solve our problems. We're self absorbed as a society with our own little corner of the world we don't work as a whole to make it better for everyone. I don't mean anyone here on an individual basis. I mean the attitude of people as a whole. We allowed government to get out of control because we didn't remember the first three words of the Constitution...We the people. This is our country, not theirs. They work for us. From a county clerk to the President. But now I think we are in such bad shape we need a shock to the system to get us back. And maybe it will be painful at first. But hopefully in the end we will get back to being the greatest country on earth because right now...not so much.

IMO, there won't be changes that resemble anything close to being radical. Tax policy and politics are a pendulum that swing constantly. That's why I'm amused when some people refer to some of Obama's views as socialist, when in fact McCain supported many of those same views only a few years ago. Let's not also forget we just had the largest government bailout in US history and there are discussions about the banks being taken over by government, all of this occuring under a republican presidency. The bigger picture here is the transformation of the republican party, which will likely occur if McCain loses and the party loses more seats in Congress. The party has become too extreme in many of its views and has been largely taken over by far right religious elements, while also forgetting about fiscal conservatism. The party needs to be more moderate and expand its base and many moderate republicans privately welcome a loss this year to bring about change within the party. If the party doesn't change, it risks becoming a predominantly regional rural white party, and will see its power continue to erode as the demographics of the country continue to change. Much of this will also hinge on what kind of job the democrats do over the next 2 to 4 years. That pendulum swings quickly if things don't go well.

Very,Very much true.

It feels like whatever the government tells us we do. There isn't anymore fight to this country. I think a good current example is how Mike Bloomberg was able to buy himself another term to run for mayor again. Another example is how the MTA keeps raising the fares. I wasn't alive in the 60s, but it seems like from what i read about that decade people back then took a stand and fought for what they believe in.

I think a lot of people are too comfortable and complacent and have been bought off with creature comforts and cheap entertainment. Most people alive today have never lived through any real crisis or major war (with the exception of Vietnam) where a lot of sacrifice was asked of citizens. It seems as if we've accepted that our government isn't working for us anymore, but as long as we have our pizza, wings and football on the weekends, we can live with it. I'm sure it's more complicated than this, but it may have something to do with it.

Well it's good to see everyone into this election and getting involved. That's a start. Nice post Jim.

Another thing - no matter who wins, they should be given a chance and supported. You may not agree with everything they say and do but make the best of it, if not for you, do it for the future of this country. Just my 2 cents.
