Is there any possibility of the blizzard in the Midwest to move east and land here in the NYC Metro area? Is it too warm out still? When should I expect the first snowfall of the 2008 winter? I am northeast of NYC.
Any Chance of the Midwest Snow heading towards the Metro area?

If I could post a probabilty below zero - then pick any number and put a minus sign in front of it. If not just put it at 0%. In fact that storm will make it rather warm here with a possibilty of some in the area reaching 70 tomorrow.

That's what I thought. Is the area supposed to get any snowfall in November?

Certainly not thru late next week as it will be well above normal in temps. Snow thru November 20th is rare here, even in colder NW suburbs. That's why seeing hvy snow for some last week was so special. It's not winter this far south and east until late November 20th or so at the earliest and usually the frst week of december. The upper midwest is another world compared to here. No ocean and much closer to the cold air source, occasional GOM moisture feed. That comes together often in November and December for them. But places like Rapid City can also have 70 degree warmth at this time of year.

Just to put it in perspective, our area averages more snow in April than we do in November; 1.0" and 0.4" respectively.
So I wouldn't hold my breath for anything more than some flakes -- even if a more favorable pattern develops by the 20th. Chances of an early April blizzard are quite a bit higher than a November snowstorm.

Heck NO! They got 3 feet of snow. Are you guys crazy. That would keep temps here like in the 20s here for awhile with all that cold air sitting on the ground.

Storm,
There have probably been more tornadic days in November in our area than there have been snowy days.

Yeah. I don't want to see any snow until at least December.
