thanked one today infact wwII vet. kinda wierd, he was talking about how the number of people who have gave their lives so far in iraq, is nothing. he said its sad when anyone dies, but was like c'mon couple thousand that would have been a good day when he was serving. kinda puts things in perspective. anyway thanks to anyone who is or has served. God Bless.

Agreed. Losing one is too many, but it does make you wonder if we would have the stomach for a major conflict like WWII if we ever needed to engage in one again. Hell, I think 50,000 soliders were killed in three days at Gettysburg.

Randolph Schools did more for Vets day this year than I have ever seen and definitely more than I remember from my days. They surrounded the perimeter of the schools with flags, had assemblies and speakers in many classes. It was enough of an impact that it caused conversation around our dinner table about my family's (father, uncles, etc) time as veterans. I was impressed and refreshed that my kids appreciated it and were interested.
