...Go to the Pacific Northwest. I just recorded a radio in Pasco, WA. My predicted high for tomorrow (14) is 5-degrees lower than the record LOW for Dec 15th. That is some serious, no BS cold air!!!

28F and light snow right now in Portland.
Great set-up for them in terms of overrunning as moisture is streaming SW-NE from the Pacific, with strong HP anchored in the interior Rockies, funneling very cold low level air right down into the valleys and coastal plain. Whenever you see that NE flow depicted in the PACNW it usually means trouble. Funny that both the Northeast and PACNW receive most of their good winter events on a NELY flow.

I swear I remember this happening last year..and it lead to a miserable/warm winter in NYC.
