the price of top notch equipment in almost all sports, always gives me sticker shock. I never realized fishing reels could cost that much. I'm sure the price is well worth it for those who are good at fishing.

they are pretty solid reels, they can be dunked with the sealed drag and are build for larger fish.the total price was $720 i think.

I found out the hard way what salt water can do to a reel. I was using my ultra light rod that I use in freshwater for snappers in the bay. Well I got sand on the reel and figured id clean it by dunking it in the salt water. Next day my reel was shot. Could barely turn it.

Me too Ice, listening to what the others got, I feel old. Now my kids have far superior electronic gadgets than my husband and I do...One got the Blackberry Storm (I have the phone that comes for free), one got a new laptop (mine is 4 years old and is slow as me) one got an I pod touch that does everything except make her bed (I do not own an I pod) etc.......My husband got me a pair of earrings, which I thought he might be insulted if I returned for a new laptop...LOL
