Most models are currently showing alteast .10-.25'' of QPF for the Metro Area - 20:1 ratios can be expected so 1-3'' is a pretty safe call at this time

The NWS has issued a WWA from Long Island North and West
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN UPTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER
ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 1 PM EST THURSDAY.

SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP RAPIDLY FROM WEST TO EAST LATE
TONIGHT AS LOW PRESSURE APPROACHES FROM THE WEST. SNOW WILL
CONTINUE DURING THE PRE-DAWN HOURS WITH THE HEAVIEST SNOW EXPECTED
BETWEEN 7 AM AND 11 AM THURSDAY. THE STEADY...ACCUMULATING SNOW
WILL QUICKLY COME TO AND END BY EARLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND
GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP. BY EARLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON
TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE GENERALLY FROM 2 TO 4 INCHES.
A FEW AREAS IN EASTERN CONNECTICUT AND EASTERN SUFFOLK COUNTY NEW
YORK MAY RECEIVE UP TO 5 INCHES OF SNOW ACCUMULATION.

Long Island/Southern Mass will be better and any North and West area, once the clipper hits the ocean you will see precip fill in over these areas

It gets rung dry as soon as it crosses into eastern pa, bad news for us imo. Not that I had big hopes for this thing anyway.

we need to see how the precip pops once the low is in a favorable position for more precip to pop.

You guys really don't like letting events play out do you? Fine, lets say it looks dry, it was never forecast to look amazing in PA especially while traveling over the Apps! Chill out, look at the radar around 11PM and then you can start complaining or whatever you do.

hey can you blame people for being pesimistic after saturday??(and every storm weve had so far)

quick question because im new here. im 30 years old, live in nyc(bronx) my whole life....and when i was a kid, i NEVER remembering every single storm turning to sleet and/or rain. these past few years, i feel like its ALWAYS about the rain snow line. we never can just get all snow. i remember last year we hada storm where it was 23 degrees and sleeeting. why is it always nyc that gets screwed? its frustrating cuz im a huge fan of snow. did meteorology change in the last 25 years or something because i remember many a snow storm when i was a kid.

it could be that i just didnt pay as close attention to the weather as a kid but im pretty sure i did. can anyone shed some light on this?
