Looks like a driving rainstorm now. Maybe we'll have a reverse scenario and trend more favorable as we get closer, although that seems physically and morally impossible this winter.

The set-up prior to the storm blows dead rats. Surface temps in the 40s.
Only way we get significant snow out of this one is if the low bombs sub 990mb about 200 miles SE of us.

As of today looks like a rain storm even here in the Hudson Valley. NWS has temps in the upper 30s to near 40. I'm sure things will change about a million times though.

Bingo !
I agree 100%
The cold air supply really isn't there with this storm. No doubt the storm track would have to be min 150 to 200 miles to our SE, and yes a deepening bomb offshore. Anyhting different, then it's mostly if not all rain, and 40 degrees.
Figures we get a Miller A setup and no real cold air around. But maybe It'll change, plenty of time for adjustments and changes.

Odd that Bill would put this out there this far out and after hearing what the models are showing -- quite surprising...
What is he basing this on? He is normally fairly conservative and careful with what he says and how he says it. I just read his blog and he makes no mention of it...

Models will probably trend SE the next few days, get our hopes up....and then go back NW in the last two days.

He mentioned it to one of the co-anchors, Lori? because she loves big snow storms, it was a QUICK mention, but as for us being snow lovers "it was mentioned"...lol
