Keep in mind, this is 3" of sleet. Can be mistaken for snow very easily but we really only got a trace of snow.

Yes, street still 3" thick--So much for crummy NYC sanitation.

BTW--Snowing moderately now in Queens!

nice shots john.  One question, what in the world is that structure by the pool, looks like two pots are hanging by it?

Geek -- imagine if that had gotten caked over with freezing rain and then new snow.  Looks like table salt doesn't it. I tried postin a shot this morning but screwed it up. Do you attach directly or use the options bar.

Use tinypic and take the link that says "use this link for forums" and attach directly to your post. Separate the pics by a few lines.

RGWP--Not sure what you mean. There are the stupid flower pots on each side of the shed, and that black pole actually has plants hang from it during the summer. That small black thing is a small statue of a dog.........

You're lucky you didn't get freezing rain Geek. Powerlines going down all over the county here with 40+mph gusts.

Yea my uncle painted it. It actually looks nice in the spring & summer when everything is bloomed and green back there but in the winter it stands out sorely!

LIWEATHER--You need serious help.

I did have freezing rain. It was nearly impossible to scrape my car windows. Even with the new scraper, I felt as if I was going to break the windows.
We had freezing rain, then it went over to sleet then ended as light freezing mist.

Wow, what a difference -- no ice at all on your trees. It looks like a death zone down here.

I'm telling you - I'm amazed at the the difference. We had a super dry blizzardlike sleet if I can call it that vs liquid water for you so close by. If you look at a thread RGW started you can see the difference here vs southern Colts Neck too.

As said on some stations, I do not think that NYC took this storm serious enough, and toatally ignored it...thanks to some of those over paid mets (not all of them) they should really listen to you guys.  I think it looks like a dangerous mess in NYC...good shots geek.

Will probably take some more pics once the sun is out tomorrow morning. Going to be a beautiful scene -- at the expense of thousands losing power.

Thanks SNOWAMP -- The pics do some justice but not enough. There is a whole layer of ice under that 3" of sleet that fell prior. I damn nearly killed myself walking down the driveway while shoveling & had to help countless people who got stuck today just driving down the block. This is why we were saying before that this was a busted fcst as most mets expected a change to rain along I-95 (my high reached 29.8). Tomorrow is going to be a dangerous drive in as snow is falling now...I may skip classes tomorrow..
BTW -- Down to 18.4 and wind chill below zero.
