I'm looking to buy a weather station. I currently have the Weather Wizard which isn't wireless. I'm looking at the Davis Instruments 6153 Wireless Vantage Pro2 Weather Station with Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield or Davis Instruments 6163 Wireless Vantage Pro2 Plus Weather Station with Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield.
Any opinions on either one?
I'm also looking on AmbientWeather.com to buy it. Is there any other good websites to purchase it from ?
I'm also interested in software to display on the computer and possibly publish it to the web so I can access conditions while I'm away from home, what do you guys recommend for a good software package to do this ?
Thanks for your input,
Mark

Scientific Sales also sells that weather station and are similar in price to Ambient. They are located in New Jersey. I have dealt with them a few times and have had no problems.

Mark, I think that one would be fine. I have that one with out the fan. Just by the Davis weather link software and that will get you on the the web. Thats what I have and you can check my station info out on my Sig. I also got mine from Ambientweather. If you get that, and have questiond, just post them because there are a few of us here with that set-up.
Good luck

Thanks Lab. So I'm assuming by getting the aspirated fan, it will give me a more precise temperature reading, right ?

Mark, Ambient is selling the 6153 for $519 and Scientific Sales for $518. I have dealt with both companies and they are both reputable. I prefer Scientific Sales because I prefer dealing with companies close to where I live if at all possible. I also have the wireless Vantage Pro 2 and later bought the fan aspirated radiation shield. I think Davis puts out a very good quality weather station for the price. I highly recommend it.
