Remember that thread on Bills board aboout who would win. Well on Eastern I read that DC ended up with 4-6" of sleet/snow combo - mostly sleet. It's quite possible that they did beat NYC as they got a lot more precip from the primary. Regardless - this is rather surprising to me.

Ice, I think you may be referring to the thread I started regarding whether it would be DT or JB that would win out with the last event as they had far different outlooks -- DT originally called for a Virginia/MD event only (and actually ridiculed anyone that thought it would be a winter event in NY Metro) and JB who said it would also be a hit much further north. IMO, they were both wrong and right with the forecasts in different ways (not faulting either one on that as this was an extremely difficult event to forecast and the models were flipping on most runs). However, I think JB clearly got the northern extent aspect correct when DT didn't. Also, DT waivered at least 3 times with his forecasts -- first going with a historic snowstorm alert for DC 6 days in advance (a reckless & irresponsible act), to completely writing it off, to something in between. JB was closer to the mark as far as this being a winter storm further north, but fell short on the snowfall expectations anywhere 75 miles from the shore.
