JB posted a 9:00PM very sketchy and long narrative about the mid-week storm potential next week. He's hinting that it could be very bad for places that got hit hard with the last storm but the storm could affect points further northeast (not sure what further northeast means as the last one walloped even Maine). He said he doesn't want to talk about the I-95 cities just yet regarding this system but will give a real outlook tomorrow on what to expect. Hmmm.

I knew it wouldn't take long for him to abandon his heavy rain forecast.

Storm, it was a very odd narrative and unless one takes the hype motive for it, he's definitely sensing something he hadn't earlier. In fact, he said if it weren't for this last storm only 24 hours ago, there would be much more buzz already regarding next week. You saw my earlier post from Walt Drag -- lots of potential again / big precip producer / lots of unknowns yet. Sounds familiar doesn't it? Get ready for another series of days of model tracking. LOL.

How much up here.LOL I would worry if it does turn out to be a large rain storm. The places that just had that snow along with heavy rain with all those frozen streams and rivers, wow what ice jams and flooding Atleast the ones with 30 " would have the snow to soak it up.

Can someone tell me how many inches I will get from the snowstorm this week?
You see I have to drive a very, very, long distance to my psychiatrist appointment that Wednesday afternoon. I have this little thing called an obsessive disorder.
Oh, yeh, my zip code is 08861.
Thank you in advance. FD
ps- Oh, and when will it start?
pss - Is a big backlash expected? About how many inches with that?

In this winter of 72 degree temps in January and 8 degree sleet in February - I'll take the position of not believing it will happen till I see it happening. 8 degree sleet! I'm still trying to digest that. This sleet is very dense and some of the parking lot snow piles around here are more indicative of 8-10" snowstorms. You can walk all over this stuff without making a footprint in some cases.
BTW - QPF totals for this last storm that I saw ranged from .94 at Central Park to 1.15" in parts of central NJ. This was way below the 2-2.5" advertised by the Nam, GFS and Euro. I'm convinced that if any of those 3' totals in upstate NY are right it's all tied to high ratios. Those folks did not get anywhere near the QPF amounts advertised either which in many placses were supposed to be 2.5" to 3.5" in some places. Robbbs - what did your weather system show as melted precip?

Ice, received 0.81" of melted liquid here. That probably explains why Tinton Falls/Long Branch/Little Silver were hit harder than me -- more QPF. Radar estimated totals were 0.90 to 1.20" in eastern Monmouth county. My station only recorded 0.81" here.
