I don't really have a problem with it. I'm not sure Wagner belongs on a list with guys like Fingers and Gossage. But he did have several absolutely dominating seasons. I remember The Eck well. Great starter for Boston then converted to a closer. He was a guy you really loved to hate. He was arrogant in an almost cartoonish WWE wrestler kind of way. But what made it worse is he really was as good as he thought he was. I think that's why Yankees fans hate Dustin Pedroia and Jonathan Papelbon so much. Not that those guys are arrogant. But they really are as good as they're made out to be. I think it was Curt Schilling who said that if you get booed in (the opposing park) it means you're good.

Oh...and was there any doubt who number 1 was?

Yeah. That's why Kirk Gibson did the arm pump thing after his big pinch hit homer in '88.
