The el nino will come in mid-end of hurricane season so that may put a end of the hurricane season fast.

I do think we will have a average season and some hurricanes or tropical storms will hit the east coast.
Guld Coast is going to get hit early and the east coast will get hit late.

The way this El Nino is blossoming now, we may have a better shot at strong Nino than weak Nino by autumn.

Hurricane season -- I'm confident it'll be near or below normal in the Atlantic basin, more than likely the latter. I like a range of about 8-9 named storms, a bit below the mean of 11.

It will be more unlikely to have below normal seasons because of new technology and an apparent change in the rules. Our satellites pick up so much more than years ago, therefore more are named. As far as rule changes, it seems that sub-tropical storms are being named now, so this can be added to the list. Last, some of the weak storms that get named now a days, never would have been named in the past. As far as this season goes, I will say slightly above average, simply because of what I just mentioned.

Looks like a pretty quiet year. Pattern is set for a lot of shear. Mainly a Carribean season.

Uhhhhhhhh i love hurricane seasons but the hurricane season looks tlike a worse season that last year. I hope we get some severe weather and the el nino will put a good season for winter 2009-2010 but it's way to early to tell.
