According to this future radar, it doesn't look like too much rain, maybe it is underdone.

There is going to be a sharp cut off from NYC West, most of the rain will be from the City East

It is so tropical here - 77 air temp with 80% humidity and a 71 DP - and with towering moisture laden clouds that look like they can't hold any more moisture that the air just wants to pop. So it is hard to believe that at least a few torrential trop downpours will not make it onto land and easily bury the low QPF output of the Nam in any aea they hit. One has developed in southern NJ and is moving WNW in direction as it rises north with the storm. This is an interesting radar showing how the models could never pick-up the highly localized heavier showers that form west of the storm center. The main plume makes no move NNW but streaks in it do as is the case in this band that originates in the main plume.

If this was winter that low would be benchmark 40/70, ideal for blizzard conditions everywhere.
I mean this would of been a good storm but there is a sharp cutoff in the action, just like the March 1-2nd storm.

I'm in a small local downpour now. It should bve brief as the main band is still south of me. These are small trop raindrops so radar may not pick them up well as is the case here. If you get into an orange or red batch in this system chances are the rain will be extremely heavy, more so than squall line storms, given the lack of reflection the tiny drops have. Clouds are just moisture laden and bulging here.

NHC is sending a plane to check this thing out. Does appear to have some circulation. A ship in the area reported 40mph winds. The storm is still heading north and has not taken a northeast shift yet. This looks to bring the rain more west.

If that train of yellow just east of the NJ shore gets onshore there will be some big rain numbers in eastern sections. Don't think it gets too far west and looks like those areas further west will be dependent on the narrow bands that shoot west off the main plume. That yellow train is part of the main storm so those rains can last many hours at a high intensity. All future radars make this system take a NE turn missing most of us. But I think they are miossing the expansion of the storm that should make some of it get on the NJ beaches and further west in LI and possibly a bit further in land. But anyone can see a heavy trop downpour or two given this saturated and warm airmass. Remember this is a warm core system so no cool air like Tuesday.

I know what you mean about the cut-off but this storm originated in the tropics and with this type of set-up there'd be no chance of snow in winter. We'd have been flooded with maritime air in advance. We'd be crying over missing mild rain, not a blizzard.

Rotation is definitely noted. Looks like the bands are also intensifying as well. Notice the rain being pulled west into NJ.

Looks like Eastern NJ/NYC may get in on the big rain amounts

That's why the storm has expanded in size. They may need to put that flood watch/warning up for all of LI.
