The global shot is a great one in that it shows the picture perfect calm atmosphere a very strong Cat4/5 type of storm needs to achieve that level of power. Compare that atmospheric condition to the turbulence in the Atlantic we've seen all season which almost completely shut down the Cape Verde season and whisked any little development off Africa well east of the US.

SST's very warm in it's locale. Did it hit some small islands?

On the shot I put up it looks to be just west of a small chain. Probably uninhabited. The storm looks like Katrina.

Tokyo is in the cone,but looks like it will be way east of them.Gonna have some nasty wave action along the east coast of Japan
