The general concensus is that the window is closing rapidly but there remains some hope for the last week in Feb. and the first week in March. After that we are pretty much done. Unless something unusual comes along. With this winter, I wouldn't rule out anything yrt.

If we dont get snow next week or the 1st week of march then we could say we done, its stil possible we could get snow into march and april but thats not looking likely becuase it supposed to warm up.I guess my snow total for this year wil be 6.6 inches lol

There are indications that the first ten days of march will be cold and stormy, winter can definitely go out with a bang, i have been talking to Jim witt a well known met long range forcaster up here and he is saying look out between march 8th to 11th for what could be a memorable snowstorm.
we shall see, indications after that , winter is over.

It is now February 19th. Must we list all the snowstorms that have happened after this date in history. Winter is no where near done.

A week of 50's and 60's before the blizzard of 1888 and a week of 50's before the superstorm. March is a crazy month alternating at times between early summer - yes it can and has gotten to 80+ in March and severe winter blizzards. Bottom line though is climatological winter is just about done in 2 weeks. But mid next week looks very interesting. In between though it will get mild and by early next week it will be warm and western NY may be dealing with 50's and heavy rain on that snowpack. Ouch - it may be nasty up there.

I say we r not done becuase march is very whacky and weird, anything could happen,it could be in the 50s and 60s one week and then a big snowstorm the weekafter, just like wut happened in 1888.If im not mistaken,Huge snowstorms happen in march becuase of the very cold and warm air colide, someone verify that for me,so dont give up yet

I just hope it doesn't get too warm too quickly for the sake of those in NY State. Can you imagine 10 feet of snow melting rapidly?

A big rainstorm - which is possible - will be a nightmare up there. They need tons of fog and 40-45 temps and then the snow melt will be done right. Fog eats snow alive.

yeah it can still snow, but with the snow angle rising it won't stick around as long anymore. that with moderating temps....here comes spring
