I would say by next weekend we will be at or just past peak. Colors are looking good now, it has been a strange year for colors. Trees of the same species arestill green while others are past peak. Lab let me know when you head up I will try to get a few shots today. You need the right conditions. mostley cloudy skys in the morning or evening and after a rain. Seems to be best for pictures of fall colors.

Great pics guys! I love the one with the lake. Are you at peak yet?
We are past it up here. I've noticed that the fall foliage season up here starts and ends quite quickly, but is pretty vivid for its short time span. This year seemed especially short, I think because of the wind we had.

Nice shots everyone. Foliage is getting going further south now in central NJ and SE PA.
Here are some pix I snapped today around Villanova campus. Moving into high color now (about 60-65%). Excuse the quality, cell phone pics.

Overall I'm impressed with the color vibrance here in SE PA. Here's another set from today. I'd say we're about 70% changed (high color).

Thanks Sat. Here are a couple photos from Monmouth county. Definitely seems like we're peaking about 5-6 days earlier than last year to me.

Fall shots around here that I took this morning. For contrast I put up a shot from August with one of my flowering crape myrtles on the front lawn. Recently I trimmed the two I have up front and their colors are some of the prettiest ones around. I have several crapes in my backyard but they are just going to a yellow color and are more than a week behind these, and I doubt they reach this color as they have less time in full sun. There's 3 of them on the waterfall. I don't think the colors here are going to be as beautiful as other years. As a general rule here peak is usually reached when the weeping Japanese maples go back to red and just start dropping leaves. The weeping japanese red maple in the photo actually made several babies and I took one out and planted it on a rocky downhill in my back in a different part of the yard. It's no more than about 3" tall but the few leaves on it changed colors. I'm interested to see if it develops into a tree next spring. I did that with a tiny beech that was in my front mulch (probably planted by a squirrel who forgt about it) about 10 years ago and that tree is now about 12' tall and should become a forrest tree.
Strange year. The forrest trees in back are much more beautiful and rich in color than the trees in front. Usually they are ahead of the trees in front by a day or two but this year the difference is really pronounced.
BTW - for snowstorm purposes - my definition of a real whiteout (not one that many on this board call a whiteout) is when I can't see that island in the center of the cul-de-sac. It has disappeared from view in the blizzard of 1996 (for 6+ hours), in PDII, blizzard of 2006 and the blizzard of 2003. Usually whiteout snow is 3"+ an hour.

Nice pics Ice.
Check this one out. My friend took it (wish i did). This is my little town. Looks like VT doesn't it? I love it. Taken yesterday. This is looking mainly west. On the right is H-town hospital. The 4 plumes of smoke (really it's steam i'm pretty sure) is M&M Mars. If you look to the left of the highest one you see a slanted cluster of houses, that's my complex.

Beautiful. Panoramic shot? Can't do that on my D80 and I've never tried one on my point and shoot camera.
