HPC snow map:

Looks like a weak system moving through Mondaynight into Tuesday. At this point looks like mostly rain here in the lower elevations with maybe some snow at the onset and the end. However, wouldn't be surprised to see the first accumulations on the local mountains (excluding Stowe/Jay Peak since they already had their first). Maybe a stronger storm late week that could bring some more interesting snows to the area. Either way, cold week coming up, lows in the 20's and highs not getting out of the 40's.

Well we had sleet this morning right in the middle of Cross Country practice. Pretty miserable. Started off as a cold rain and transitioned over to sleet. Temperatures were in the mid-upper 30's at the time.

Looking more and more likely that we will get our first measurable snow this week. Looking at the 12z NAM and GFS, they support mostly snow with 0.25-0.50" of QPF. Everywhere except at the surface is solidly below freezing. Looking around 32 at night and in the morning and 33-35 at the surface in the afternoon.

National Weather Service:

Monday Night: A chance of rain showers before 2am, then snow showers. Low around 30. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Tuesday: Rain and snow likely before 2pm, then a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 42. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Lol sooner or later! Hopefully not the sleet though...although any 1st wintry precip is nice.

Well we got our first accumulating snow!
Started in the early morning hours and came down at a decent clip for some time before tapering off around 8AM. We picked up 0.7" here on campus and it is beautiful! However already starting to melt as the sun angle comes into play and the temps rise through the 30's. Some higher elevations around here have anywhere from 1" to 3". Will post pictures later! Hopefully I can get up to the base of Burke Mountain a little later too.
