Has Obama spent even 20 minutes yet in the Oval Office since he was sworn in?

If I lived in NJ, I'd vote for Daggett. Simply because a messgae needs to be sent to Dems & Republicans. I get the feeling most people feel the same way, but are worried it would be a wasted vote, so they're going with who they perceive as the lesser of the other two evils to try to keep the other from winning.

The sad thing is, almost 60 percent of Jerseyans want Corzine out, but the anti-Corzine vote will be split between Daggett and Christie so he'll probably win with less than 40 percent.

Good to see that the Democrats can still count on the useful idiots for their vote. These people have been voting Democrat for 70 years and they're still poor. They keep buying into the empty promises and false rhetoric. Some folks never learn.

Yeah but look at the Deep South. Some very poor areas that have voted Republican forever, and in no way have their lives improved. On the large scale of things, there really isn't much difference between Repub/Dem once in office.

Unfortunately most people do look at it as a wasted vote. If no one would think that, Daggett would likely win this election.

deep south has and will be nonfunctioning due to the inhabitants. aint the smartest folk (not even trying to be mean) nor the most productive in certain areas. we on the otherhand have seen better times, the politicians are turning us into "deep south" if you will, and perhapse with the mass exodous we have seen to nj the south seems to be the new NJ.

Very true.
We really do need someone who got himself elected by himself and by the people, not by the special interest groups/lobbyists or by corporations. Therefore when he gets into office he has no one that he needs to "pay back" except the issues that the people elected him on.

And he has the unions in his back pocket as well. Plenty of union workers in New Jersey that they can always count on.

Unfortunately I think a lot of that has to do with race. I really do. A lot of people in the deep south still think we're fighting the Civil War and are still totally backwards when it comes to many social issues. I think a lot of poor people (no matter where they live) see Democrats as the party that will help them rise up out of poverty through a bunch of handouts and government programs. To me, all that does is create dependency, which is why a lot of their lives have not improved.

I think there is a bigger difference between city and country than between north and south. I have been in rural upstate NY areas that could have been mistaken for rural West Virginia. I think many folks (regardless of wealth or lack there of) vote by party, unfortunately.

Too many people vote with their wallets though. Especially Republicans. Personally i don't care if taxes get raised, it's not gonna break me. How much are we really talking about anyway? It amounts to a few bucks. Other things are more important to me. I don't like Corzine but trying to pin our high taxes on him is foolish. NJ has been broken for a long time. Anyone who wants to be governor of this state needs to have their head checked because it's a no win situation.

I don't think most people would complain as much about high taxes if we felt we were getting what we paid for. However, when you hear about the corruption, the waste and people getting rich by doing unethical or questionable things with the taxpayers hard earned money, after a while it gets a little annoying to say the least. If our businesses were run this way or even our personal lives, we would probably be out of business or in jail. The taxpayer is probably taken advantage of more than any group in history.

I agree with you 100% it's just that people have to separate things a little. It's the system that is broken. We will never get what we paid for in taxes. We will always complain about the gov't. Go after the bad apples and don't take it out on everyone else in the meantime. The gov't has to help peopel to a point. We also need to pay taxes to a point. If we just blindly vote for the politician that 'promises' lower taxes we will just pay for it in other areas and everything will continue to turn to crap anyway.

Speaking of taxes, I just drove from Long Island to Washington DC and back. 45 dollars in tolls, another tax. I could have kept going from DC to Florida and paid nothing in tolls.

Doesn't NYC have a lot to do with that though? I drive down to VA and NC quite a bit and the only thing i pay is about 75 cents to cross the Delaware.

It depends how you go and normally I try to keep the amount as low as is reasonable. NYC accounts for about $18, 10 for the Verrazano and 8 for the Outerbridge. In NJ you have the NJ turnpike, then the Delaware Memorial Bridge, $4 toll on the turnpike in Delaware and a $5 toll on the turnpike in Maryland. Then you have the tunnel in Baltimore. I assume you take route 80 or 78 west thru Pa. and then down to Virginia, there are no tolls that way. When I am going to more western areas, I do go that way also.
