I don't doubt it. We have the worst state legislature in the union. What I don't understand is why the immediate cuts must be to schools & hospitals. There are so many social programs that could be cut and/or eliminated altogether.

Patterson tried to raise the cost of new license plates by 25 dollars and that was shot down. It would have raised about 120 million dollars. Although this is not nearly enough to solve the budget woes I thought it was a good idea because it would not cause much hardship to people. So now we will have to find another way to raise the 120 million and it will probably be more of a hardship to many. Patterson has terrible ratings but he is telling it like it is and sometimes the truth hurts. The state has to raise money and cut costs and Patterson is at least putting forth and effort, it would be nice if the legislature would step up to the plate.
