Plus the lakes are unusually warm because November was so above normal. In fact during the storm the other night you could see on the radars that it was rain over the lake and snow on the land. For awhile immediate lakeshore areas were getting rain even far north toward Green Bay. It was almost like sea breeze cooled areas on the immediate shores of NJ in summer. You usually see this out there in November storms and by December the lakes have cooled enough to overcome it. So the warmer that lake is in a situation like this the more intense the banding can be.
