"Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura" just had a show on that tonight and there is actual scientific theories behind it. According to NASA, a solar storm maxima is supposed to be right around the time of the 2012 prophecy. Something not seen in over 150 years. Back then, electronics were not around. But today, it could conceivably fry the entire power and electronic grid. Also, NASA reported a huge hole in the magnetic sphere that essentially protects us from solar flares. So if these flares are as powerful as predicted they could conceivably reach the earth's surface. http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2008/16...giantbreach.htm So there may be a little more to this than myths and rumors. Now just because something is possible doesn't mean it happens. But its more interesting having NASA facts behind it.

Ha ha. I'm not scared of 2012...even if it happens. Because if the world ends its not like they'll be something left here to miss or people to leave behind. Honestly, if I found out something like a massive tidal wave was going to hit I'd want to go to the beach and wait for it like that chick in "Deep Impact." Oh, sure I could go to one of the underground fortresses but I'm about a billion dollars short of a billion dollars. So I figure if there is no way to prepare for the end of the world, why not get a front-row seat? I just wonder if the special effects will be as cool as they were in the movie. LOL.

I was watching something on this the other day . They had someone from nasa on that to and stated that in 1998 everything was aligned better than it will be in 2012. were still here

heres a piece about it from wiki

"The alignment in question is not exclusive to 2012 but takes place over a 36-year period, corresponding to the diameter of the Sun, with the most precise convergence having already occurred in 1998.[49] Also, Jenkins himself notes that there is no concrete evidence that the Maya were aware of precession.[42] While some Mayan scholars, such as Barbara MacLeod, have suggested that some Mayan holy dates were timed to precessional cycles, scholarly opinion on the subject is divided.[22] There is also little evidence, archaeological or historical, that the Maya placed any importance on solstices or equinoxes.[22][50]"
