Top one about 25' it was thru a window.
bottom pic was a little more, I was out on the deck above him. He was pretty dam big.LOL

He look big as hell..i always lived in the city so i never exprience them this close....I'll be scare to go out at night if i knew they were around..lol...you gotta be carefull what u put in the garbage as well...

I heard the males don't really hibernate around here. We can ask my brother. I've never seen tracks in the winter and i hike/snowshoe a lot.

Never saw a beer here in the HV though tons and tons and tons of deers all around the area.

black bears are not true hibernators(esp in nj). if theirs food still around they will be out. My friend has tons of acres behind his house in stanhope and has seen a bear almost every day this winter. Hes seen them out even when temps are below 0

They go into whats called a Torpor (temporary hibernation).

Had a bear in my backyard one morning a few years ago. He was munching a snickers bar he found in somebodys garbage. Bears are spotted in this area every year. Those are great pics, Lab.
