What was learned after the 1st weekend:

1.) The Mid-Majors are having a heck of a year.
2.) The Big East was highly overrated.
3.) Kansas was overrated, along with the Big 12, and perhaps should not have been the #1 overall seed.
4.) Syracuse can win big without Onuako.
5.) Cornell and Washington should be taken seriously.
6.) Duke is a legitimate #1 seed.
7.) Purdue can win without Hummell.
8.) Villanova was ranked way too high.

Going forward:
Midwest Bracket-
Ohio State has to be the favorite now.
Look for a great game between N. Iowa/Mich State.
Prediction: Michigan State over N. Iowa, Ohio State over Tennessee, Ohio State over Michigan State.

West Bracket-
Syracuse is still the favorite, especially if Onuako comes back.
Prediction: Syracuse over Butler, Kansas State over Xavier, Syracuse over Kansas State.

East Bracket-
Both #11 and #12 seeds remain alive.
I favor West Virginia in this region, but Kentucky is looking very good.
Kentucky/Cornell, WVU/Washington will be very close as these underdog teams have been hot and playing up to their full potential. Wouldn't surprise me to see an upset, especially this year.
Prediction: Kentucky over Cornell, West Virginia over Washington. West Virginia over Kentucky.

South Bracket-
Duke is the overall favorite.
Can Saint Mary's continue their near-flawless play?
Prediction: Duke over Purdue, Baylor over Saint Mary's, Duke over Baylor.

Final Four-
Prediction: Syracuse over Ohio State. West Virginia over Duke.

Championship-
Syracuse over West Virginia.

you say big east is over rated yet you have 2 of them in the final? I took a beating , I lost 2 of my final 4 so far with pitt and kansas

The overall conference can be overrated but still have a couple good programs in it. This entire year the talk of the Big East was how deep and overall talented it was and how so many of the teams deserve to be in the tourney. Well now in fact it looks very weak with two very good teams in it. This was how the ACC was last year (overall the conference was on the weak side, but still produced UNC as a champion).

I lost one of my final 4 with Kansas, but I also had them as the Champion. Banking on the strength of the Big East also hurt me, Nova/GTown/Pitt to the Elite 8, Notre Dame/Louisville into the 2nd round.

oh yea big east killed me, only good thing is I picked a lot of upset right including cornell to the sweet 16. I have Kentucky winning it all. Im in 5th currently out of 116 so im not doing as bad as I thought. I need a few more upsets in the kansas and pitt bracket or i will lose alopt of points. Out of 116 only 8 have all final 4 teams left
Hurricaneff
My overall bracket is not that great, but I still have 3 of the my final 4 (Picked Villanova),and both the finals teams still alive(Ohio St vs Kentucky)..

It's hard enough filling out a bracket with 64 teams, just imagine next year if they go to 96!!!But on the bright side if they go to 96 that will give my favorite team a better shot ,St.Johns.

Big East definitely looks overrated now with all the early losses. But like RG said they still have 2 teams left that have a legit chance at the championship so it's not too bad.

Also of more concern for WV now, their point guard is injured.
