What was learned after the 1st weekend:
1.) The Mid-Majors are having a heck of a year.
2.) The Big East was highly overrated.
3.) Kansas was overrated, along with the Big 12, and perhaps should not have been the #1 overall seed.
4.) Syracuse can win big without Onuako.
5.) Cornell and Washington should be taken seriously.
6.) Duke is a legitimate #1 seed.
7.) Purdue can win without Hummell.
8.) Villanova was ranked way too high.
Going forward:
Midwest Bracket-
Ohio State has to be the favorite now.
Look for a great game between N. Iowa/Mich State.
Prediction: Michigan State over N. Iowa, Ohio State over Tennessee, Ohio State over Michigan State.
West Bracket-
Syracuse is still the favorite, especially if Onuako comes back.
Prediction: Syracuse over Butler, Kansas State over Xavier, Syracuse over Kansas State.
East Bracket-
Both #11 and #12 seeds remain alive.
I favor West Virginia in this region, but Kentucky is looking very good.
Kentucky/Cornell, WVU/Washington will be very close as these underdog teams have been hot and playing up to their full potential. Wouldn't surprise me to see an upset, especially this year.
Prediction: Kentucky over Cornell, West Virginia over Washington. West Virginia over Kentucky.
South Bracket-
Duke is the overall favorite.
Can Saint Mary's continue their near-flawless play?
Prediction: Duke over Purdue, Baylor over Saint Mary's, Duke over Baylor.
Final Four-
Prediction: Syracuse over Ohio State. West Virginia over Duke.
Championship-
Syracuse over West Virginia.
you say big east is over rated yet you have 2 of them in the final? I took a beating , I lost 2 of my final 4 so far with pitt and kansas
