"Reversing a ban on oil drilling off most U.S. shores, President Barack Obama on Wednesday announced an expansive new policy that could put oil and natural gas platforms in waters along the southern Atlantic coastline, the eastern Gulf of Mexico and part of Alaska."

Good for him, we need a combination of more oil and other energy sources to get off foreign dependency.

True, but what I find more troubling is that one of Obama's campaign promises was that he would not reverse this ban of offshore drilling off most of our US shores, in this instance in the Gulf of Mexico and off Virginia's coast and parts of Alaska. Now he reverses the ban and that's another campaign promise broken.
