Since there's nothing going on weatherwise; except for frost and dew reports...

Here's my review and some photos.

Attended the Devils final regular season game on Sunday

Real nice place. Friendly staff, good concessions. It's an easy and safe walk from the Newark train station.

It is good to get there early while the food lines are short and the place is not yet crowded. The Carvel lines were hopelessly long; skipped it. I got a bbq pork sandwich for $7 and a wheat beer.

The music they play all the time was WAY TOO LOUD, obnoxiously so. For me, it was to the point that it took away from some of the enjoyment.

Seats were comfortable but the room for your feet is short and there are no cup holders (section 110).

I don't know the nuances of hockey strategy and need to read up on the rules. Some rules have changed over the years. Devils won with 3 seconds left on an open net goal.

We'll probably go again, maybe even to see a Nets game next season.

I think the loud music is at all sporting events. I agree though. I work right across the street from the arena. It is very nice. The area surrounding it keeps improving. There are a few really cool bars/restaurants. Also i think the seating space is a lot bigger but only down in the lower bowl. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Nets play there next year. I went to a Nets preseason game there this past year and the crowd was really good.

Yeah, I know, Yankee Stadium is loud now too.

Where are the restaurants and bars located? Any recommendations?

I'd be game for an NYCMW "roadtrip" to see a Nets game together next season!

Yeah let me know if you go to a Nets game. We can try to meet up.

The Arena Lounge is a good bar to hang out at. It's on Mulberry (same street as the arena) just about a block south. There is also Brick City Bar and Grill which is really good. That is the closest to the arena, right across the side street (Edison Pl). A few other places that you can't actually see from the arena but are just a 2 or 3 blocks away are Scully's Publick House (great irish place) and The Spot Lounge. Then of course there are a ton of porteguese (and brazilian) restaurants in the ironbound section which is right on the other side of the train station but really only a few blocks from the arena.

OK. We'll talk next fall and see who may want to go to a basketball game.

im spoiled, when i get tickets i get club seats in the ice lounge. Lower level and the all the free food you can eat. these seats are big and plenty of leg room with cup olders on the back of every seat.

Pearl Jam is playing there May 18. I'm pretty psyched. One thing i just realized is that Bruce hasn't done a show there yet. Pretty strange.

Just for the fun of it, I'll probably go to a Nets game this year, Sat. I havent't been to a pro basketball game in decades.
