Mets 1B Mike Jacobs was designated for assignment on Sunday to make room for relief pitcher Tobi Stoner, who was called up from Triple-A Buffalo.

Stoner will probably be up for a day or 2 to help out in the bullpen since it was spent in yesterdays marathon.Hopefully we can see Ike up here Tue or Wed!!!!!

We need him up here. Platoon of Tatis and Cora aren't helping.

The kid looked awesome out there, very composed. First AB a base hit then his thrid AB a RBI base hit. Got to love the smile on the face of Ike. Looks like the clubhouse and team had a different look to them last night.

It's pretty sad that a call-up provided the energy last night. Wasn't Reyes supposed to do that? The Mets are in trouble, if they need Ike Davis to give the team and the clubhouse a more loose look.

Mets have been sad for the last 3 yrs. If it take Ike to re fire the engines then so be it. Reyes us useless. I wanted the Mets to trade him 2 yrs ago. He is cocky and lazy. Trade for some SP and bullpen and an OF or something of that mix.
I dont think they are in trouble if they need Ike to make it more fun. sometimes a new face or a little change can do a team good. It has been one game, a small sample, but they looked good last night. The trainwreck of Jason Bay finally got back on track last night. I havent seen that guy get that excited in the dugout since he was on the All star team a few years ago.
