Of course. Stayed here 3 years ago. Found the hotel to be very clean, comfortable, and nice.

Depends on your budget. Avoid the Atlantic beach area though if you stay in North Myrtle Beach.

I typically stay here but it's one of the best condos available down there so it's higher in price. It was also just built in the last 5 years or so.

This is also very nice and less in price.

Go thru a real estate office such as Condoworld or Booe realty to get the best deals. Going directly to a building is more expensive. Another nice place is the Windy Hill dunes but the cutout of the beach makes it a windier area.

D'ont know it. I never stay far down in Myrtle as it's older, congested and more like Coney Island, plus the beaches are narrower. I prefer North Myrtle Beach or the northern part of Myrtle Beach itself - say 30th street north and north of there. This is a more affluent area, everything is newer, it's cleaner and more residential and the beaches are wider. It's also where the better restaurants are. Myrtle Beach splits south and north by streets somewhere around 501, the same way NYC splits east and west at 5th ave.

I stayed in north myrtle too. It was Pelican something. I believe there are 2 Pelican places right across from each other. I stayed at the one on the beach. It was nice but this was over 10 years ago.

There's probably 50 condos that went up since then.

Dave,

Basically look at this map and drill down on it. Anything north of 30N street, it starts around a condo called the Carribean resort. Anything north is where I'd stay. The area from about 30n st is northern Myrtle Beach. New York Prime, a phenomenal steakhouse is in this area. Just avoid Atlantic Beach if you venture into the town of North Myrtle Beachwhich is one of the first areas in North Myrtle Beach. BTW water temp reaches 84-87 from very late July on.

You can actually stay in Atlantic Beach - there's actually some nice condos there but stay away from the southernmost end - it's a known crime area. The area from the Carribeanm around 31N st. up through the Ocean Creek is really nice. Southwinds is around 52nd street and just north of Southwinds is another brand new resort called Island Vista that is also beautiful. Southwinds and the places in Kingston Plantation are expensive. Some real nice places at good prices are:

Windy Hill dunes
Mar Vista Grand
North and South shore villas

These are all in North Myrtle Beach, which is a separate town from Myrtle beach.

Here's a view from Southwinds

and one of the nicer homes in that area right on the beach. Amazing that it has no lightning rods. Lightning there can be deadly.
