Looks like most, if not all, of those storms will miss our area to the north. Unless new cells pop up, much of our area will remain rain-free today with widely scattered storms.
weathergeek87
Wow even the possibility of large hail in SVR STRMS.
We had hail here in Lyndonville during a strong thunderstorm last week.

Anyone north of I-80 looks to get a quick hit of rain, maybe some embedded thunder and lightning.
Anyone around I-84 area looks to get slammed with this band that's RACING to the East.

Looks like a Sussex/Pike/Sullivan special..

There's no lightning registering in any of those cells right now. That's all warm front showers and down here in central NJ we're already into SW winds, probably headed for 80-85 today. Doesn't look like enough humidity builds for the CF later so we may end up going dry, as Robbbs noted, in a lot of the area today.

Robbs. a small hook forming on the southern end. That may get us in the next 15 min.

According to family in Queens, absolutely pouring right now at my house in Flushing. Radar shows some orange and red echos over Northern Queens.

Very heavy rain reported here. Nothing more, just a downpour with this cell. Should end very soon. Looks like some places did not go dry as predicted previously.

I just received a big downpour!

Not too impressed with today, best instability and dynamics look south. Maybe south of Trenton has a shot.

Temp has reached 82 here. Pool has responded to two sunny days and temp has risen to 64. Once it gets to 65-66 I need less than a day to get it into the 83-84 range if weather looks good.

Nasty-looking near Bethlehem.
LongIslandCoastalWx
My buddy in Spring Township, PA reported marble size hail. Hailed for about 2 minutes, he said.
forte408
Looks like some major storms heading into Central Jersey from PA right now.

Severe T-storm warning here. Looks like mainpart of the initial cell goes just south of me and then second one comes in and nails here. Sky is in perfect match with radar presentation. Mainly cloud to cloud lightning and vivid so far and very dark just south of me. NW of me its bright but you can see the dark sky coming in behind thatin the 2nd cell. Overall a strange looking sky.
forte408
Crazy cloud to cloud lightning just to the West of me. No rain or anything yet, but the sky just to the west looks very creepy with the lightning streaking across the clouds.
forte408
That area of strong thunderstorms within that line seems to be quickly weakening as it heads east though.

First cell fell apart. Second cell will hit me briefly but main effect will be south of here. Forte if it holds together it will hit you hard. Lot of cloud lightning, some quite intense.
icehater
Someone around here should see a phenomenal rainbow. Intense rain passing just south of me (looks like both cells miss or the second cell barely nails me with the sun out) while bright sun is now out in the far NW sky. Large and beautiful thunderhead east of me (that was the first cell). Overall the cells just collapsed to the south. Should be a good hit on Wall to Belmar along I-195. Gonna be a nothing event here.
Maloga
That cell is sitting over my house..intense lightning and sheets of rain right now...haven't seen anything like this in a while..shutting the computer down as a precaution.
FreezingDrizzle
Only got a brief shower here. One cell missed to the north and one missed to the south.
forte408
Incredible lightning just to the south of me. Took a ride to the beach a few miles south into the Spring Lake/Manasquan area and it was awesome down there. Not a ton of rain, or at least not for a very long period of time, but the lightning was non-stop.
robbbs
As suspected and posted this morning, today was 99.9% rain-free and a mostly sunny day for most of our region. Had a grand total of 0.05" of rain here in a five minute shower this morning.

Went to dinner right after my last post just down the road from my house. We were seated with 4 friends at a window overlooking the south and you could see a moisture feeder band build in like a rising smoke column while the second cell stalled and intensified south of my area. Lightning area just got more and more intense with constant CTG bolts developing in its heart. The storms ended up doing nothing here but you could see 2 different cells back build into the area just south of me as the cells stalled and intensified. They actually grew back far enough NW to kill off the sun as we were driving the 2 miles west to the restaurant. Overall it was an absolutely awesome sky here around 8PM, with big thunderheads, an orange/yellow lighted sky from a setting sun in the northwest and a varityy of colors from pnk to orange across the sky to a greenish black in the heavy cell south of the area. The thuinderhead developing to the south looked enormous. I was thinking that far south Colts Neck into Wall and Forte's area were getting pounded.

I didn't have any exciting storms this evening. All I had was some thunder, lightning and rain.

Yeah Trenton and southward received the majority of the storms as expected:
FreezingDrizzle
My cousin in Jackson NJ had a nasty storm with many trees down.

I was in NC over the w/e and we had marble size hail Saturday afternoon. It was the biggest hail i've ever actually seen in my life.
