Just gorgeous outside. 72 degrees with a dewpoint of 42 degrees.

I love this weather. I wish it was like this throughout the whole Summer.

Not me. I love the warmth of summer. I like this on occasion but the lazy hazy days are what make summer special. I actually prefer most the hot humid deep blue tropical skies that are so typical of Florida and which we seem to be getting more of, save for last summer.

You need this type of weather interspersed as the hot/humid days do get old after awhile. But after a few days of cool I'll be ready for the heat again, as you said that's what summer's all about.

I'm with you. This is perfect weather.
LongIslandCoastalWx
Eh, I'm more inclined to agree with Ice and Storm, then with Anthony or NYBrit.

I'll take this for a few days after the stretch of warm and muggy days that we had, but I wouldn't want this for a long, continuous stretch. This isn't beach weather or pool weather, and living near the shore, and having a pool, I want to enjoy both. But I was outside earlier, and the air felt quite refreshing. But I want the heat and humidity to rule the summer, especially after the winter we endured, but wouldn't mind short periods of cooler, drier weather in between the periods of heat and humidity.
forte408
This was a gorgeous beach day temperature wise, I was down there all day until the clouds decided to hide the sun for much of the afternoon. Those hot and humid days are not beach weather, IMO, it's just too uncomfortable to sit on the beach. Today was perfect.

Complete opposite.
I want the hot hazy days to go to the beach, and the days like today to be hanging around the yard, pool, etc.

Anyone have any idea of the lows this morning at Pequest/Walpack/High Point?
Tomorrow morning should be colder as winds should subside later on.

Stefano said 44 at HP. Pequest was about 46. I don't think Walpack reported.

I have no clue how people love the hot weather. All of you don't sweat? getlost.png

Beach
Pool
Boardwalk
Feeling of tropical weather with pop=up storms
Playing basketball in the evening
Barbecuing
sitting outside in warmth late at night.
Going to a ballgame in warmth in the evening in lingering daylight
If I were younger I'd say something else but you should have it figured out by now

We're ploar opposites except for snow. I really despise the cold unless it's purpose is to preserve snow. I hate winter's long darkness period except at Christmas thanks to lighting displays. Line up a 100 people who'd rather have heat or bitter cold and you'll be in a low minority. Cold and darkness is far more limiting than heat and daylight. To me it's prison vs freedom.

I'm the opposite. The reason why I love the winter is because I don't sweat and the cold weather. It's so comfortable to sleep in the winter than it is in the summer. The only thing I like about Summer is baseball.
weathergeek87
Ice - in FULL agreement, especially after living in Northern VT for 3 winters.
Anthony - Try living in a colder, more desolate climate, and your body will yearn for warmer weather, trust me, I was a big winter lover before I moved to Northern VT, now, I can do without.

As for lows, Pequest is 58 and High Point is at 56 right now.
40's are guaranteed in these locations tonight, wonder what has been the issue with the Walpack station...it hasn't been reporting all day...?

Will be interesting to see who comes out lowest in the state, sometimes the NJ Pine Barren locations can drop below NW NJ locations. Winds have already died down from the stronger breezes of earlier this afternoon, hopefully they go calm so temps can plummit.

Ice the older I get the more I enjoy the warm weather. Theirs just so much more to do outside wise reguardless of the temps in the summer. I was never a fan of extreme cold but I will always love the snow.

Sorry Ant, but you're in the minority here.

Nothing like being at the beach on a hot day, or lounging around the pool with a Margarita in hand. I like being outside at night even if it's a little muggy and sitting at the patio with a friend drinking a few beers. In the winter, you can't do that. It gets dark too early. Waiting at the train station up on the platform sucks in winter with the cold wind blowing in your face. I only like winter because I like snow, or I would hate it with a passion. Nothing like walking around the city on a warm day, or having a BBQ with friends and family over, or playing basketball in the late afternoons. Sorry, but I will take summer 9 times out of 10.

Cannot wait for my friend from Ireland to get here, so we can hang out in the city. biggrin.gif

Dropped like a rock. Down to 54.4 already and beautiful outside.

Some heavy rain coming into CNJ.

A little disappointed with .24 so far, and looking at radar no way we see even a 1/2" in my opinion. My understanding was a slow steady rain starting 1 to 2PM until early AM hrs. Did I miss a precip change as I haven't had a chance to watch TV forecast. Thought I say a range between a 1" to 1.5" this early morning.

It's going to be interesting tomorrow as temps south to north will be vastly different. This time it's not from a BD front though. The ULL moving thru upstate NY tomorrow can keep things interesting for NYC and north with instability showers and storms popping up after the sun warms the lower atmosphere. Meanwhile further south and SW the air should be a lot more stable aloft and can handle the sun and a rapid surface warm-up. So the temp should keep rising. Could see 85 here and 85-90 in southern NJ while NYC struggles to 75 as the instability limits warming with clouds, sprinkles or even brief heavy showers. Of course a little different ULL track can open up stable warmth further north or push instability further south. Summer's version of a R/S line.
Kelli013
Guess I was a doubting Thomas as they say, I'm up to .97 and probably will make it over a inch.

Heavy rain right now.

That batch of heavy rain really added to the totals quickly.
