My forecast is calling for Sunny weather 6 days in a row. Wow, I have not seen my forecast like this in years. My next thunderstorm is hopefully by next Tuesday or Wednesday. Until then, SUN, SUN. SUN AND SUN.

About a half dozen years ago, we had no rain here from May until August.
Anyone remember when that drought summer was?

I believe it was 2005, from mid-April thru September, then the drought was broken by a deluge of rain in October. I got 20" of rain in one week, and there wasn't really flooding issues because of the water table so low.

I believe that's it BM.
Interestingly, CPK data does not show low monthly rain totals for June and July that season. Maybe they got lucky with isolated thundershowers.
There's your October rain.
2005 4.67 3.04 4.89 4.81 1.48
3.21 3.56 3.96 0.48

2005 was like that for 8-10 weeks with phenomenal heat at times. For much of that summer we couldn't buy clouds, let alone rain. In fact it was bone dry into September. October opened the floodgates with 10-20" rains in 3 days.

In 2005 I recorded normal rainfall for the June July period but well below for Aug and Sept. Rain for those two months totaled 1.28 in. Then came Oct with close to 14 in.

Fire Worries indeed..very dry out there. Absolutely gorgeous weatherwise. Almost feels like autumn. My lows tonight are expected to be in the 50's. Heat and humidity is on the way though for the 4th July weekend with temps being in the 90s.

FreezingDrizzle, great data, probably so with those thundershowers in July and August.
