Joey Chestnut won again. He ate 54 hot dogs. The Jap wasn't in the contest.

Now here is the twist. He was arrested after the match. Check it out.

The most that I ever ate were 5 hotdogs. I have no clue how they can eat over 10 hotdogs lol

I agree!

Yes...lets take the world's most obese nation and glorify stuffing our faces with food. Well at least there was something I cared less about than World Cup and LeBron James for a day.

You're reading too much into it. It was a hot dog eating contest on 4th of July. That's it.

That I will give you.

I think its gross, stuffing your face and then puking. Sport or not, I don't see to many overweight Nascar drivers. Of course you do have to fit through the car window.

In Japan, competitive eating is the number 3 "sport", behind baseball and Sumo wrestling. My brother's friend is a former Nathan's champ and actually held the record at one time (when it was "only" about 20 hot dogs). He was once flown to Japan, put up in a first class hotel - all expenses paid - and given appearance fees to participate in a few eating contests.

Interesting, but I just don't get the point and definitely don't see the sport in it. I would call it a contest, like hog calling or bobbing for apples or something.

iagree with that too, but still better than nascar.

Weatherbowl - even if they got into the car obese, they would come out skinny after sweating profusely for 2 straight hours. LOL

And with regard to the hot dog contest, I would puke just watching it.
I cannot eat more than 1 hot dog, forget about 54. You'd see my intestines on the floor, LOL

This is actually what many people don't realize, you have to be in good shape to do what they do.
