Getting a tstorm right now. Waiting for it to pass before i head to work.

Perfect timing for these storms

Storm coming through SI now, I'm just hearing distant rumbles at the moment. Had a brief period of heavy rain.

In my garage, one step from outside at 7AM, lightning and thunder at the same time. I felt the electricity (possiblty static) and heard a strange sound. Scared the living #$^ out of me.

nothing great here. Just 0.12" of rain. Break out all the bust posts. LOL

Currently getting absolutely hammered here in Belmar. Torrential rains, constant thunder and lightning. Power has flashed on and off a few times. Watched this storm go from a small green/yellow area on radar, to an area of dark red as it hit the coast and just exploded.

LOL I can't believe this summer. Besides being disgustingly hot and humid I can't seem to even buy a thunderstorm at the moment. Take a look at the cell over Staten Island right now...

That thin bit over the island between the two red blobs is where I live. I see storm clouds to the left of me, storm clouds to the right of me and right overhead? Blue sky and sunshine! Hopefully I can get some decent rain out of this somehow. Not even a distant rumble yet even with the door open.

This month has been amazing with the thunderstorms ability to miss me. My rainfall for this month is now at 1.37 in., well below most other locations. Brit I believe you live on the se shore and I live on the west shore. I would be interested to see rainfall totals for southern SI and northern SI. This storm that just occured looks like it gave ne SI a good dousing but just a trace here. Typical weenie rant " it never rains at my house"

I didn't even get anything. And if you look at the radar it just broke up literally as it got to me. I live in Great Kills. What a dud. This storm looked a cert to nail me.

I have to laugh. If you zoom in really close that dividing line where it's raining and where it's not is literally right over me! It's trying to drizzle right now we'll see if it manages to do anything more. I want the rain more than anything. The only good thing is I've noticed the temperature is already starting to drop. At least we'll get some cooler fresher air for a few days.

Same here. As usual the line splits and I get nothing but a drop. 0.11" this morning barely soaked into the grass.

Storm, what I got must have missed you, as it really exploded once it got all the way to the coast.

Just started to pour again here, looks like this batch is really exploding as it comes to the coast again, worst of it a bit north of me this time. Big temperature change since this morning as well, much cooler air outside, windows open now.

light shower this morning, otherwise another day of no rain.
