There are a few. But here is one law that will get a boost if AZ law works out. Why not finger print everyone that is illegal? They are breaking the law, so why not see if they have records in other places? Why wait untill they kill someone or something.
http://www.ice.gov/p...ities-facts.htmFacts:
Since its inception in October 2008, 21,736 matches identified aliens charged with or convicted of a Level 1 offense, such as murder, rape and kidnapping. Nearly 5,000 aliens identified as Level 1 matches have been removed from the U.S. because of IDENT/IAFIS interoperability.
At the root, Secure Communities is about information sharing with local law enforcement agencies so they and the federal government have all the facts about the people in their jails.
Secure Communities gets the job done without imposing a major cost or resource burden on local law enforcement.
Allegations of racial profiling:
To date, ICE has not received any complaints of racial profiling related to the Secure Communities strategy.
Secure Communities is a color blind system and reduces the opportunity for allegations of racial and ethnic profiling because the fingerprints of every individual arrested and booked into custody are checked against immigration records, not just those manually submitted by local officers.
Here are some of the people this has taken off the streets
