to wake up to over an inch of snow

yes, I didnt think I was going to have light snow all night.  even my zone forecast only called for a mix of rain and snow graduallly going to snow.  I woke up at 2:30 and it was all snow and temp was already 31.  I went to bed at 1 and I was still 34.5 with very wet snow and some rain.

What the heck is going on, I woke up to nothing.  Temp is 26.7 and it ain't doin anything.  I took the day off work and now I am feeling like a jerk.  Can anyone please tell me that I am going to get snow so that I do not make the treck down to Fairfield only to have to come home in a bunch of crap.  ::)

Only a coating on top of that sleet from last night here. And your only like 9 miles from me. So, whats your thinking on this storm. Didnt see the 6z sounding yet they were not updated when I looked. This might help with your forcast, I forgot to get gas for the snow blower yesterday so I just abou 3/4 of a tank.

I still think we go to sleet this evening.  I just hope im wrong and I maybe. If the precip comes down really hard the dynamic cooling can cool a warm layer up above.  A met from mt holly mentioned this on eastern this morning
