As tristate does, I think it would be interesting to hold challenges for forecasting....
such as
a given 4 day period (highs and lows)
a cold spell
a warm spell
snowfall amounts from storms
also a photo contest might also be interesting
if needed, i can run or monitor these contests/challenges, or not

Geek, if not too much programming trouble for Brett, can he make the photo area to the left of the post appear larger? Thanks, John

Don't be afraid to ask me questions directly :)
By size, do you mean increase how big the avatar appears?

Ok Brett, I didn't know how often you checked messages.
Yes, make the picture/avatar appear larger in the post. You'll notice that my photo of the Statue of Liberty, for example, could be larger and still fit in your format. The photos show up so small that one cannot see much detail in them. Thanks, John

Another idea, you may want to program the photo to default to center itself in the available space, whether it's portrait like mine, or landscape like "Geek's. Tx

Once we get the site up we will provide live radar provided by NYC Metro Weather.

Brett - is there something you could do where we could click on someone's picture (underneath their screen name) and it opens up larger in a separate window?
Also on some boards there is a little arrow you can click on outside each thead that takes you directly to the last post in that thread and to the bottom. Does that make sense? It's no big deal and I don't want to give you more work. It's just a suggestion. I will have more, again assuming you don't mind them.
Thanks.

When in the forum view, in the "Last Post" column (all the way to the right) if you click the "Last Post By" link in the row of the thread you want, it will do what you are talking about.

guys just wondering...would a glossery/frequently used terms section be useful/needed? i know it would be could for someone like myself as i have no clue what some of the terminology is, but if its too much don't worry. i try to look at other sites to see what they are, but come up empty handed occasionally. thanks.
ps what the heck is HECS?

I'm sure Brett will add that as the site gets bigger, a HECS is a Historic East Coast Storm

Brett/Geek - I know it's low priority, but was there any way to make the avatar by each post appear larger on the screen? FD (John)

I actually think Brett is working on that, I'll let him know about your question

Yes, it's possible and I've tried it, however I think for several avatars the image begins to obscure concentration on the post.

Hey Brett and Geek,
Can you guys start a pinned thread with all the model websites(gfs, nam, jam, etc) and all the good radars, pricep, wind, good topless bars ( I guess you can skip the last one) but anyway get the idea. Many people post great grafics but you dont know what website. Thanks , And Brett ask Geek about my other idea for live weather updates.LOL

"I think for several avatars the image begins to obscure concentration on the post."
I'm not sure what this means. Are you going to be able to make the avatar appear larger? Thanks, John
