I just want to chime in and say how much I like the format of this board. I look forwrad to good discussions and to learning more about models and understanding the weather. I am also looking forward toa board without trolls, and designated areas for sports and other discussions. I like to laugh, but am glad the humor can be relegated to another part of the board.
GREAT JOB WEATHERGEEK!
I'm not sure why someone at Bill's board said tristate crushes the competition, but I can almost guarantee that that will not happen here.
I'm here to stay but will also frequent bill's board to read the posts of storm, robbbs, ice and Bill. And have you invited Bill to be one of our resident meteorologists over here? It might be nice to have some of teh local mets know that they are welcome to post here. Just a thought.

As for me I believe that if the "trolls", losers, etc can be kept away then truly this board can be an asset to the "weather world". I see no reason why this board cannot co-exist peacefully with the other's.

Betelgeuse--Thanks! Credit should also be given to Brett (wxtracker93)..he is the brains behind the operation.
Just curious--are you into Astronomy? The only reason I can think of why you would make your username Betelgeuse is because there is a star named that or maybe you liked that cartoon? :) We may add in an astronomy section as well. I am a huge space nut.
One of my good friends who is a behind the scenes MET @ GMA (works with Sam Champion on a daily basis) is scheduled to make an appearance here. His name is Gerard McNiff. Great guy and great MET. I am trying to get Nick Gregory as well. We'll see.
I was also curious to why someone said Tri-State crushes the competition--I don't agree with that @ all. EasternUsWx is much bigger than Tri-State and Bill's board (when it's not being trolled) is far better than the both (IMO).
Hope you guys enjoy it here!

'Geek is there any way to preview the messages from all the threads chronologically like at 7online?

Geek I am into astronomy myself. Maybe you could start another board for this topic?

Hi Geek. Yes, I picked the name because of the star, not the movie. I remembered learning that this star is 6 times the size of our sun and that if it replaced our sun, it would reach the orbit of Jupiter. I changed the name to betelguese, even though it is pronounced 'beetlejuice' to clarify.
I like weather and astronomy, though I am light years away from being an expert.

Freezing Drizzle--Not sure. I am going to give Brett a call later today and see if that's a possibility.
Betelgeuse--I will definitely bring that idea to Brett'a attn. I think it would just be easier to put astronomy subjects in the weather forum. Seems logical to me instead of making a sub-forum which could take some time..
I am not very interested in the cosmos, other galaxies, etc. My interest lies within our own solar system--the larger gaseous planets being my main focus.

Thanks for looking into that Preview option Geek. Maybe it's just me, but I use that feature a lot on 7online. If you've been off for awhile it allows you to quickly scan all the posts for anything of interest.

FreezingDrizzle, do you mean a threaded view? If that's what you mean, I think once you click on a message the threaded view automatically shows up......? Maybe I don't understand what you mean...? Let me know.

I think he means a preview you can ust it on 7online it shows you the first few words of each post when you look at the post. I guess he uses it to decide if the message is worth looking at or not.If you look on the 7online board at the top it has show previews. Click on that to see what FreezingDrizzle means.

Out of all the years I have been with 7online, I have never once clicked the Preview button 'til today.
I will definitely ask Brett about it. Thanks for the suggestion!

It was Drizzles idea. I do think it's a good one though.

I see that you were discussing the Previews feature. For a long time I did not use it either. More recently, I realized that you can use Previews and quickly read ALL the posts from ALL the threads quickly and in chronological order.
I use it all the time now. It's a great feature; especially when catching up on a lot of posts after being off for a while.
BTW, it gives you the entire post not just a part of it. FD

Is it my computer or are some of the messages cut off at the bottom? Besides that i think it is a very nice site. I hope it gets as popular as 7online and eastern.

I'm sure it will if we are active on here. There are over 50 members of which I think no more than half have actually posted yet. So those who haven't, jump right on in!

It appears you are the only one having this problem. It might be your computer. Try adjusting your resolution.

I'm having a similar problem. Doesn't even have to be very long post but I have to scroll to read it and its choppy. No problem with maps though.

I suggest downloading a copy of Mozilla Firefox, it is a great browser and is very compatable and very safe to use. I have tested this bug and there is no problem in Firefox.
