WILL BE ISSUING UPDATED ZONES/AFM/PFM SHORTLY...WITH UPDATED GRIDS
ALREADY SENT REGARDING PRECIP THIS MORNING.

ISOLATED SHOWERS STILL PERSISTING ACROSS CWA...AND MORE EVIDENT TO
THE WEST ON REGIONAL RADAR...SUPPORTED BY 500 MB VORT LOCATED OVER
NE PA...THIS HAS MOVED EASTWARD SLOWER THAN MODEL FORECAST...SO
HAVE UPDATED TO INCLUDE ISOLATED SHOWERS IN ALL ZONES FOR THIS
MORNING. A MORE VIGOROUS PIECE OF MID LEVEL ENERGY (BASED ON
COMPARISON IN WV IMAGERY) DROPS INTO THE PERSISTENT NE TROF THIS
AFTERNOON. THIS S/W...COMBINED WITH BOUNDARY LAYER CONVERGENCE VIA
SURFACE TROUGH AND STEEP LAPSE RATES UP TO H7 WITH DAYTIME HEATING
AND COLD POCKET ALOFT...SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO SPARK SOME SHRA
ACTIVITY MAINLY OVER THE WESTERN PORTION OF THE CWA. CAPE IS
MINIMAL BUT DOES REACH UP TO SUFFICIENTLY COLD MID LVL TEMPS TO
CONTINUE WITH THE SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDER. INVERTED V SOUNDINGS
WITH DRY MID AND SUB-CLOUD LAYERS COULD PRODUCE SOME LOCALLY GUSTY
WINDS. OVERALL LOW/MID LEVEL WIND VELOCITIES AND 0-6KM SHEAR
VALUES DO NOT APPEAR TO BE SUPPORTIVE OF NEAR-SEVERE GUST VALUES
HOWEVER.

That was the NWS overnight sysnopsis and outlook. Since then, they have greatly reduced the threat of any significant rain or thunderstorm activity over our area today. Only a 20% chance of scattered showers this pm.

Aren't we supposed to warm up today through tuesday?  What went wrong?

Oh, damn it. Then when will we get some decent storms in our area?

You can have them all. We have enough swollen rivers and flooding worries down here.

Ice, I haven't looked at any model runs or synoptics, however, I heard on NBC this morning that another 1" to 2" of precip may fall Tuesday night? If that's so, it's more bad news for wet basements, soggy ground, and swollen rivers.

Couple of storms got briefly strong as they were moving SE to the coast well south of me. Here it's bone dry and sunny and we are up to 71. Tomnorrow has a shot at 80. Like you I haven't looked at anything beyond tomorrow's temps but we certainly don't need any more rain.

Ah!  That's why my mom asked me if it rained yesterday.  She was down in Atlantic City with my grandmother and they said everything was wet when they came out of the casino.  We didn't get a drop in North Jersey.

I had a brief 10 min rain shower about 730 this morning but that was all. It's nice and sunny now 74*
