What is she still doing on FOX 5? Doesn't she know she is horrible? For example, just a few mintues ago I just heard her say that there could some severe thunderstorms tonight. Does she know that they weaken when the sun goes down?

Apparently she knows more than you, it is not just the thunder and lighting that make them sever, but it is the amount of rain that comes down in a short period of time which can cause flash flooding. Yes she may be a bad met but she is not wrong by saying the storms could be severe.

I know that it's not only the lightning & thunder that make them severe. But if many other mets are saying it should be below severe limits and she is the only that says it could be severe, who would you believe?

I don't listen to mets, I choose to figure out what will happen on my own; because 90% of the time you will be more accurate even if you just know the basics.

you are both wrong

1) severe thunderstorms do not always weaken as the sun goes down.  MCCs and MCSs thrive in the nocturnal hours.

2) flash flooding is not a technical classification of a severe thunderstorm

however, with that said, craig allen should be replacing tracey.

A severe thunderstorm is defined as having winds of 58 mph or higher, hail 3/4 inch or larger, and/or a tornado.  Lightning strikes, rain amount and rainfall rates are irrelevant.
