summer
All depends on the track - any track that allows too much of a east-northeast wind will kill snow chances and quickly get temps into the low to mid 30s with an ocean temp right around 40 degrees

metsfan - if you havn't heard that there are going to be some serious mixing issues esp near the coast then you haven't been reading closely for the last 24 hrs!  the air aloft and the winds play a big factor.  but the bottom line is the jury is still out.

Hey Sat, good to see you over here. What is your NOAA forecast saying ? It seems a little wierd to me. It says "Periods of snow showers" for Tuesday night and Wednesday, but the AFD and SWS says a significant snow for the entire CWA ?  Just doesn't make much sense to me. Anyone else who has an idea of why can certainly chime in.

By the way, for the guys who put up the site, nice job. A lot better then the trolls on 7-online, good luck with it.

yeah forecasts are all over the map right now.  honestly i think anything goes at this point.  but i'd have to believe our area will still do fairly well with snow with all that cold air to our northwest.  whether that means 6 inches, 12, 18, who knows?

Sat - They have changed it to what I thought it should be, Snow tues, Tues night(with a low of 10) and Wed until 1pm, then snow showers. Still realize that they are unsure, but at least it makes me feel better until the next AFD comes out !

What happens is that primary low maintains control of the energy (not handing it off to the secondary along the shore so quick; therefore a southeast wind brings in warm ocean air onshore and turning any precip over to rain..we need to hope for a quick handoff of energy to the secondary and for that primary to die when it comes into contact with that high!
