We are in prime time right now and it's dormant. Cosgrove sees 10 more storms. I'd give that a haircut to 5 or 6 and they are going to have to develop and stay far south like Dean. The Atlantic is not favorable and doesn't look like it will become favorable anytime soon.

Long-term GFS graphics look pretty hostile to trop storm development and we are in prime time right now. We may start to see some further cutbacks in forecasts of named storms. Cosgrove's 10 additional named storms looks like it's an "out there" forecast right now.

ANOTHER TROPICAL WAVE IS LOCATED OVER THE FAR EASTERN ATLANTIC ABOUT
800 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS.  SLOW
DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM IS POSSIBLE DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF
DAYS AT IT MOVES WESTWARD AT 15 TO 20 MPH.
LongIslandWthr
A TROPICAL WAVE AND A BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE LOCATED ABOUT
MIDWAY BETWEEN AFRICA AND THE LESSER ANTILLES ARE PRODUCING
DISORGANIZED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
ARE FAVORABLE FOR SOME DEVELOPMENT AS THIS SYSTEM MOVES WESTWARD AT
15 TO 20 MPH.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.

He said that 7 days ago, there are a few things in the tropics we should be keeping an eye on as of tonight.
