Because we struggle to get a correct forecast within 12 hours of the event never mind days in advance

Agreed. You people are grasping at straws. Yes it's fun to speculate, but it's ridiculous when you are 100+ hrs away from a potential storm.

1-3 inches in my book is not considered a storm.  Even this last one was nothing considering the first two we had this season produced more snow.

Mr. Evans says:

"We'll be seeing a "clipper-type" disturbance emerging in the Great Lakes on Wednesday, which will tend to approach your area from the north and west later in the day... It may bring a bit of snow or some flurries late on Wednesday or perhaps Wednesday night... In its wake, it will manage to reinforce the cold air... "

That is true. I think I am close to tha amount of snow I had last year already. Minus all that sleet. already 11.25" ( 2", 6.50" and 2.75 yesterday)

Problem is it's 11" of snow that was ptrobably on the ground for about 20 hours collectively. It counts in the record books but real snow in my book is always the snow that accumulates and stays around. That's why I'm no fan of warmfront snow or late winter/early spring snow.

True Ice. The 6.5" snow only lasted 2 days. Better than nothing. Its like going to Hooters for a burger and the view, Many of the hooters are artificial, but still nice to look at even if its for a short time  ;)

November snow is different. You don't expect it to last and anything you get is a bonus. So you know going in that anything that falls isn't lasting. It's really exhibition season. Warmfront snow is a waste because it's almost like getting snow under false pretext (plus it's destined to be washed away in short order) and late season (post March 20th) snow makes you want to curse and say where the heck were you in DJF.
