Look at the radar echoes from off the Jersey coast and the increase in moisture back into NJ/NE PA. It looks like to me the low is forming off the NJ coast near LI and rapidly intensifying. Does any one have any pressure stats to back this up?
snowfreak188
it looks liek its gonna start to develop out there soon just hopefully its more south then expected.
snowfreak188
it also looks like on the wunderground radar the precip is moving NE now

Yes I see that. I dont think the low will form as far north as they are saying. Id like to get the offshore buey info to find out the barometric pressures in the Atlantic
weathergun
There are no pressure falls in the Atlantic. It's too early. The low shouldn't start forming until later tonight:

ok thanks
blizzardof83
I dont know, if you look at Intellicast's radar, you can see the back edge filling in nicely and the echoes becoming more enhanced. Look also at the mod. to heavy prcp in the Atlantic, this is not from the warm front IMO
OrangeCountyWeather06
Thank god, maybe more Frozen precip than expected.
blizzardof83
I hope so, im at 19 deg with flurries in Hopewell Jct, NY (Dutchess Cty) About 1/4 inch on the ground

I heard talk about the Secondary Low forming off MD and not NJ.  Henry thinks it moves North and holds in the cold air in the Hudson Valley. No rain? Anything to that?
blizzardof83
That is what my prior post was talking about. I think central NJ its forming, but it was supposed to form off of LI and CT coasts. Is Henry right about this? Storm, Robbs, any opinions??
Putnam
sorry. i see the other one now. my bad.
OrangeCountyWeather06
It happens.  :(

Mrsnow88
That's what I'm hearing over at Tri State Weather, this would be some change. One of their Very Reliable Regulars is currently saying this.
metfan4life
im hearing that to but then this guy posted that it was an error
Mrsnow88
Right, but then it was re-corrected it's still there.

yea i just saw that as well.

That map only shows pressure in the past 3 hours, not Low pacement.
Mrsnow88
That was all I could find right now. But they were talking about the placement being there as well, I"ll have to find the links. This could be a nice twist.

The "L" was on 18z surface analysis chart. At 19z it wasn't there, although there is bump on the isobars off VA/NC. I don't know if the exact low placement was correct. But the pressure something maybe forming soon.

NWS has updated their forecast. They are saying the snow is done and the temps are going to rise. I guess no low.
weathergun

What will it mean for precip in the nyc area if the low does form as far south as Virginia?  More snow?

hey blizzard

good seeing you again, im in te town of poughkeepsie neart the overlook drive inn hheehee, yea we got ripped of seeing snow as the majority fell south of us, you have 19?  iam sitting at 21 , we could see some serious ice if we dont warm up fast.

almost seems like the warm air is coming from the west rather than the south this time.

Nothing. That's just the initial area of lowest pressure. The real storm forms off LI tonite. The other thing you have to remember is that it's where the storm takes circulation control away from the primary that matters NOT where the secondary forms. The secondary just adds on a lot of extra precip in a situation where the primary holds circulation control.
NYBrit
Ok, thanks Ice
snowlover424
so do you honestly think we will get somemore snow?
metfan4life
on the other boards, they said the low is forming south  of the jersey coast and said its earlier then the models progged,is this true or na
