Big snows for them with predictions of some 18 inches. Icehater you mentioned this late last week and it looks to be coming to pass. It would be nice to be spending the next few days  in N. Conway NH. which is a real  New England town(near Mt. Washington)and will look nice in a 15 inch snowfall. Keep an eye on the Caribou Maine webcam.

Bangor should be the jackpot with an 18-24" blizzard there IMO. Caribou's snows are mainly tomorrow nite into Tuesday. Probably 12-18" there.

Here's the 12Z and 18Z precips. I don't trust 18Z precip amounts though so I'd use the 12Z until the 0Z comes out.

Nothing going on here as of yet. Supposed to start after midnight. Predictions are 6-12" of snow with more in the higher elevations.

na i wont, too boring up there,i was there and theres nothing to do,its nice in the winter though

Bar Harbor is a great place. Never been to Caribou but a cousin of mine lived in Bangor for 10 years. He was in Caibou on business a few times and said the place is like an arctic wasteland. He was there once in early April and they still had 2' of snow on the ground with an inbound 2' blizzard due. Imagine 4' of snow on the ground in April? Too much cold for me.

Agree - Bar Harbor is great and would love to visit that town again. I hear from the natives it's a heck of an experience in the winter -- often 50-60mph winds with bitter wind chills near the ocean, coupled with a 70" snowfall average, not exactly the most pleasant vacation destination November-March. I think that's why their population in the winter months is several thousand lower than the June-Sept period.

Weatherbowl - My thought late last week that the bullseye for this storm was going to be Bangor is verifying as downeast Maine from Bangor to Bar Harbor will get 14-20" in general with up to 24" expected in the Bangor and Ellsworth area. Bar Harbor probably gets the highest precip amounts but ratios will be lower because a lot of snow falls at 30-32 degrees. Keep in mind this is storm snow not LES so 2' is really 2' and not a patted down 12" a day later. Boston was close on this one as Portland Maine, which was on the fence yesterday, stayed all snow and will end up in the 8-14" range. It's just a different world up there vs here. Caribou is also probably 8-14" as they are a tad too far north as the heart of the storm is central and downeast Maine. Augusta also does real well with 12-18". But Bangor area is going to be the jackpot.

Can't find a Bangor webcam but it's looking pretty in Caribou.

Here's a few Maine turnpike cams near Portland.

They are so used to big storms up there. This is just another 30-50 mph 1-2' snowstorm for them. When the superstorm hit in 1993 and everyone up and down the coast was raving about it, the folks in Maine were wondering what the big deal was.
