basically the storm is still here but i dont think we're in for too much more winter weather. So who was right on with this storm? how bad did henry bust? (lol) which of the models was the best? we can use this info. to predict the next storm.
as for me, NWS, Channel 7, and TWC said 1-3" and i got about 1.5" so that works for me.
which model handled this the best?

The "real" storm is just starting. The euro (from day one) and GFS (once it dumped our snowstorm idea) called it best. I never followed any TV stationsso I don't know who scored well there.

Per this board last night Upton did say that and if so they did a very good job on the WAA snow. I never thought we'd get snow after midnight.

Two things that surprised me about this storm:
1. How little actual precipitation we had during the day today - it looks like the rain in southern nj is moving almost east and the big chunk of precipitation is moving through pa (will wreck havoc again on the steeler game) and be in most of our areas after midnight
2. how slow the cold air has been to move north of central nj - it seems to have gotten stuck by exit 100 and 130 on the parkway - it is moving just very slow
Two things that did not surprise me about this storm:
1. How mild it did get along the south nj coast 48 degrees in atlantic city with a south wind at 830pm - same temp in cape may with a wind right off the ocean - safe to say ocean temps are right around 47-50 degrees
2. How mild it got to the west with this storm - rain as far north as buffalo, ny

I was out to a late dinner and really didn't check much last night. The last data I checked in early evening led me to believe a lot of virga was on it's way. Seeing the moon shine thru the cloudcover when I went to bed at 2AM made me feel even more certain about that.

I was on route 80 in Pa. last night for some 220 miles and reached the New Jersey line about 11:30 P.M. No snow at all. I got back to Long Island about 2 A.M. and the stars were still out.

You're telling me:
http://www.weather.com/maps/maptype/curren...e_animated.htmlIt's amazing that the warm air aloft is into Ontario and not all that far from Montreal.

For early December, it wasn't that bad of a storm, at least in my opinion. We got about two inches and for me, the rain held off until the overnight hours. It's not easy to get a blockbuster snowstorm on December 2nd.
