If anybody out there has any post em' in here.

I would seriously doubt that there will be any closings, except for far north and west ny.    Stranger things have happened though.

Poughkeepsie could get ice, not sure of temp now, but just an hour ago it was still around 21.

So far we are delayed up here until 12 noon. Hoping for a day off.
metfan4life
how bad is it up there

Not that my kids are in Monticello schools, but a teacher friend of mine was told that there will be a 2 hour delay at this point.  The roads up here, including 17 west of Wurtsboro, were not even groomed until after noon today, apparantly side roads are even worse.  I really do not think Goshen will have a delay. My guess is Minisink, Port Jervis, Pine Bush, delays if not closing.  But, you all know how they react after the "first" event, especially if it is over a weekend and no one is there to prepare busses. (Not that I have that available to me either..LOL)  Currently, 18 here, and still that fine sugar like stuff falling, deck is getting a bit slippier.  My truck is ready to go..all cleared and hopefully nothing else will fall on it.....

Schools in Dutchess County never announce until morning of, even if 15 inches is predicted.

I was wondering about you guys.  I figured they would be pretty hard core but a blizzard is another story.  BTW you guys have less than an inch more than hackettstown this winter LOL.  (had to slip that in there while i could!).

Children really have it easy these days. School close for what? It's going to rain overnight and wash most of the ice/snow away.

Could they at least wait until the morning? Not like a blizzard is predicted for tomorrow...

Haha yeah I hear that they are pretty hard-core. That's why I'm not sure if we'll get the day off or not. I'm hoping that we do though. Luckily 2 out of my 3 classes of the day are before 12, so they're cancelled anyway.

And yeah, as of today (with home picking up an estimated 2.5"), Newton has just a little more than here. But luckily I was home for that larger storm around Thanksgiving. However, this will all change for the season tomorrow!
